One more time

Hey, it's been a while since I've posted in LJ. A lot of things have changed ever since like my interest with KPOP which has waned with the disbandment of my favorite groups and appearance of new groups who sound the same. On the other hand, I have found new interests in the form of figure skating and recently, international football. Figure skating because of the 2014 Sochi Olmypics and football because of the recently concluded World Cup. My world really broadened this year and I hope I can maintain my interest in them for more than 4 years even if that means that my favorite skater is probably going to retire already and I'll be busy with work already.

Prologue - Root of Evil

Prologue

Warning: Cheesiness overload

“Jae!” Yunho came running towards Jaejoong. “Sorry, I'm late. My mother asked me to-” Yunho wasn't able to finish what he's got to say for Jaejoong just crashed his lips into his.

The former was shocked to react for a while but realizing that he can't breathe he pushed the latter away. “Oh Jae, I'm so sorry. Hahaahahaa... Just let me...catch my breath first...” Yunho put his hand hand on Jae's shoulder for support while struggling to regain his breathe.

Jaejoong crossed his arms and muttered with a hint of contempt, “You know Yunho, you should be a little bit more thankful for having a boyfriend who's more than willing to kiss that sweaty face of yours and wait for two hours just to see -” This time, it was Yunho's turn to shut Jaejoong up.

Finally, after a very long and heated kiss, the both of them finally, and reluctantly, their lips let go and they just settle for an embrace. “ Oh god, I missed you so much. I'm sorry for pushing you Jae, but you almost killed me a while ago.” The both of them chuckled. “I missed you too, Yunho. I'm sorry for cutting your air supply. I got so excited when I saw you I had to kiss you just to prove that I wasn't dreaming.”

“And to think that we just didn't see each other for five days, ” Yunho chuckled. “Yeah, another five boring days without my beloved Yunho. How am I going to live like this for four years?” Jaejoong sighed.

“Don't worry Jae, because I'm going to do whatever it takes just to join you in your school next year. I'm going to get that scholarship whatever it takes! That way, we don't have to meet each other halfway every weekend anymore.”

“Don't make promises that you can't keep, Yunho because I don't want my hopes getting crushed in the end. You know, traveling and seeing you every weekend is enough for me. You just don't see it now in me because this kind of setup is still new for me. Trust me, after two months, everything will just be a routine for us.”

Yunho breaks the embrace to look Jaejoong in the eye. “Are you underestimating my capabilities, Jae?”
Jaejoong shakes his head and looks at Yunho with sad and loving eyes. “I just don't want you to work so hard everyday. I know that aside from studying, you also have an obligation to your family. I just don't want you to push yourself so hard.”

“Aish... Don't worry too much about me, Jae. With my awesome abilities, I couldn't possibly strain myself in any way. Just keep on rooting for me, okay?” Yunho cups Jaejoong's face and looks at him with the same loving gaze.

“Babo.” Jaejoong playfully hits Yunho's arm and the both of smile and laugh until at last, the bus arrives.

Writer's Block: No regrets

If you could eliminate one emotion (anxiety, sadness, jealousy, regret, etc.), would you do it? Why or why not? If so, which one would you choose?
I'm choosing between jealousy and regret but for me, I would like to remove jealousy. I've always been insecure about my appearance, my singing and my intelligence and feeling jealous towards people who are beautiful, thin, sings well and intelligent has lowered my self-esteem more. I wish that I don't get jealous anymore and be able to ignore this feeling.

Reflection

The entire Life Science course taught me that the learning process can be done in a creative and entertaining manner such as making and reading storybooks, is more effective if one's knowledge and abilities are shared with others and is more productive if done with a group.

For me, the most important idea of the three is the first one because it proves that learning can also be fun and interesting. Most students, especially young ones, are intimidated by their textbooks. They find them boring because they can't understand the concepts easily unlike when they are exposed to storybooks. Stories are a great way of teaching children scientific concepts because the pictures catch their attention and the adventures of the characters interest and excite them. With this, their memory of the lesson would last longer thus improving their grades in school.

This course also made me realize that Life Science is a very complicated yet organized look on life (just by looking on the very long DNA sequences in the Bioinformatics activity), is a very broad subject and is very beneficial to science and to the people.

Life Science is an important branch of science because the study of it contributes a lot to the betterment of the lives of humans, animals, plants and other organisms. It has given us the similarity of all organisms in earth, that humans at 98% similar to monkeys and 80% the same to a banana. It can also give the ancestry of a person and trace the line of genetic diseases to detect if a person is a carrier.
